What Do You Do When the Job You Loved—Raising Kids—is Over?
When the world feels like it’s spinning out of control, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.
But here’s the thing: you don’t have to fix the world. You only need to focus on what’s within your own sphere of influence.
Maybe your purpose isn’t about doing something grand or world-changing.
Maybe it’s about adding small jolts of joy wherever you go.
But what if you’re not sure what brings you joy anymore?
That’s a tough spot to be in. It can feel embarrassing, even isolating.
You keep it hidden, throwing your energy into other people’s passions while quietly wondering, Why don’t I have anything of my own?
I know that feeling because I’ve been there.
I knew how to cheer others on, how to help make their dreams a reality—but when it came to me? I had no dreams of my own.
And living like that made my life feel…foreign. Like I was playing a role in someone else’s story.
That all changed when I finally decided to rediscover myself. I stepped away from other people’s rules and expectations, and in the process, I stumbled onto my own passionate purpose: helping others see themselves clearly and claim their own unique path.
That purpose aligned perfectly with my role as a mom.
I found so much joy in nurturing my child, helping him to see his own beauty and embrace his individuality. (Honestly, if I’d realized this earlier, I probably would’ve had more kids!)
But then came that pivotal moment—the moment when he grew up, and my most fulfilling job was gone.
What do you do when that happens?
When the parenting work that once gave your life purpose disappears, and the job that pays the bills doesn’t fill that gap?
What do you do when that old, pre-parenthood feeling of emptiness creeps back in?
Does it mean something’s wrong with you? That you’re moving backward?
I don’t think so.
I believe that feeling is life nudging you forward. It’s telling you that it’s time for something new.
It’s time to rediscover who you are now—after all the life experiences you’ve had, after all the wisdom you’ve gained.
This is the moment to make sense of your journey and find a new purpose.
Because here’s the truth: it’s not over.
You still have decades of life ahead of you, and they can be just as meaningful as the chapters that came before.
This stage of life—the second half—isn’t about proving your worth or raising kids. It’s about something deeper.
When you take the time to rediscover who you are now, you’ll uncover a new purpose.
You’ll find the spark that makes your life feel aligned and meaningful again.
And with that, you’ll bring your unique jolt of joy to a world that truly needs it.
This is what my work is all about.
In a world that feels chaotic, I focus on this: helping women like you rediscover the goodness, purpose, and joy that already live inside them—and making it real.
