This Might Be Why Nothing Fits Anymore

transitions & endings who am i now?

Something I see often but that people rarely say out loud is this:

There comes a point where your life doesn’t quite fit anymore.

Nothing is necessarily wrong.

From the outside, things may even look fine.

And yet…

You find yourself less able to tolerate things that never used to bother you.
More affected by people, environments, conversations.
Less willing to go along with what once felt normal.

You might even wonder:

What's wrong with me?
Why can't I handle this like I used to?

I remember when this happened to me. I was in my early thirties.

I had always been easy-going. I didn’t argue. I went along with what others wanted. And it didn’t bother me.

And then suddenly, I couldn’t cope with the lunacy I saw in my workplace.

I disagreed with my boss.
I felt frustrated with the secrecy around me.

And I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t just handle it anymore.

I started to think something was wrong with me.

What I wish I had known then is this:

What if nothing is wrong?

What if this isn’t a problem to fix…

But a signal?

Because what I’ve seen over and over again is this:

When you can no longer tolerate what you were once willing to endure,

You’ve changed.
And your life hasn’t caught up yet.

Your inner world has shifted.
Your awareness has deepened.
Something in you has become more honest, more awake, more true.

But your outer life, your work, your roles, your expectations, may still be organized around who you used to be.

And that gap?

That’s what creates the tension.
The restlessness.
The quiet dissatisfaction you can’t quite explain.

Most people try to solve this by pushing through, forcing clarity, or jumping into something new.

But the real work isn’t out there.

It’s in here:

Understanding who you are now.
Making sense of what’s changed.
Letting your life reorganize around that truth.

This is the part no one teaches.

But it’s the part that makes everything else work.

So if things feel off lately…

If your tolerance has dropped…

If you feel like you don’t quite fit your own life anymore…

This isn’t you falling apart.

This is you outgrowing who you’ve been.

And something new, something more true, is asking to take its place.
