Is It Time For You To Stop Hiding?

life's work who am i now?

Suppose that in order to do the work you came here to do, you have to show up?

Be seen. Be visible.

What if your calling requires you to be witnessed?

How do you do that when you've spent most of your life hiding?

You don't need to force yourself to post on Instagram or make dancing TikTok videos.

You need to understand why you learned to hide in the first place and gently rewire your brain and unravel your programming. Let me explain:

Suppose your family told you that your intuitive or clairvoyant abilities were strange or dangerous and you were punished for sharing what you saw or sensed.

Suppose your mother or a sibling felt threatened by your brilliance and made your life difficult whenever others noticed you.

Suppose your family valued practicality, planning, and efficiency and you were a tender, creative, emotional soul who never quite fit the mold.

Suppose you watched people who looked like you being told to go back to their country or treated as if they did not belong.

If you've been hiding, my guess is that you had a damn good reason.

A survival reason.

Nothing is wrong with you if you learned to hide. You hid to survive.

You downplayed your gifts because you needed safety, acceptance, and belonging. We all do.

But there are two big consequences when you stay hidden.

First, you forget who you are.

You forget what makes you different and why your difference matters.

Sharing your difference is the reason you are here.

Second, fitting in is not the same as belonging.

Brené Brown says it beautifully:

“True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world. True belonging does not require you to change who you are. It requires you to be who you are.”

When you're hiding, you're not sharing your authentic or true self.

You're shaping yourself to fit a world that never truly knew how to receive you.

And when you do that long enough, you forget your own truth.

I know this.

I hid for years.

I told myself that staying in the background was noble, that I didn't need attention, that I was somehow better if I did not take up space.

But none of that was true.

We all need to be seen.

We all need to feel significant.

We all need to express who we are.

When I reached my own midlife turning point, I began doing my life’s work: helping people remember who they are and create their soul-aligned work.

To do that, I had to stop hiding.

I had to retrain my brain and dig deep into old wounds, patterns and programming. I needed to tame the lie that hiding made me safe.

The only reason I stopped hiding was because my calling mattered.

And it still isn't easy to show up fully.

Once you know what you're here to do, when you hide, you're betraying your soul.

There is no point in shrinking.

It may protect you from criticism, but it blocks your calling.

So, hiding isn't noble.

Shining is.

Shining doesn't mean bragging.

It doesn't mean stepping into ego.

It means leading your life with love.

It means allowing your light to be received.

So let me ask you gently:

Is it time for you to stop hiding?
